Kelly and Mark's wedding has been the biggest pleasure to photograph and edit! I have become so involved in the photos as I edit them... they have made me laugh out loud, smile widely... and admittedly, there were even a couple times that a wee tear trickled down my cheek as I worked through them. I dare you not to sit here with a big grin on your face throughout this blog!

I first met with Kelly and Mark to talk weddings in July last year... and I had been crazy excited about their wedding since then. I just knew it was going to be something special. These guys are awesome. Like actually AWESOME. They are both the kind of people you just instantly want to be friends with - it has been great to get to know them! Liam and I had sooooo much fun on their incredible wedding day!

Before I begin, you will be forgiven if you have come in search of a blog for Kelly McGregor and Mark, and found the wrong bride and groom! Wanna know something crazy?! I found out from other photographers that the same day that THIS Kelly McGregor and Mark got married... another Kelly McGregor was marrying another Mark in Dunedin!!! How crazy is that??! Annnnnd there was ANOTHER wedding in Dunedin that day for Kelly and Mike!!! Unbelieveable!!

Anywhoo, back to it.... let's start at the very beginning and head to the groom's house...
Enough of the boys just for now... let me take you to the pretty girls!

Kelly is unbelievably gorgeous. She is one of those girls who just captivates you because her beautiful smile is so genuine and vibrant! She radiates happiness and makes you feel like you are one of the most awesome people in the world at that moment, even if you have actually done nothing... a very rare gift! She is so encouraging, excitable and just utterly lovely!
And her sister Sarah, and best friends, Kaz and Kura, are also stunning girls who just made the day a breeze! We loved working with all these girls!
I LOVE how expressive Kelly is!
Kelly's gorgeous dress was bought in Dunedin, and altered to fit her perfectly. However, when she went to put it on not long before the ceremony, she realised it hadn't actually been finished off properly inside, and it was missing a few vital ribbons! I honestly still cannot get over how calmly and amazingly Kelly dealt with this slight mishap! A few phone calls later, and a lady from the bridal shop was up in an instant, sewing up Kelly's dress while she was in it!!!
And her Dad thinks she looks pretty darn amazing in the finished product!!!
Off to meet her husband-to-be at the gorgeous North Taieri Church!
And they were so excited to become husband and wife!!!
About now was where the tears welled up in me while I was editing. I totally adore this series of all the grandparents hugging Kelly and Mark and sharing their wisdom and knowledge.
During the family photos after the ceremony, we had a very sudden but awesome shower of little autumn leaves... it was like natural confetti!
And juuust before we left with the bridal party for location shoot (and consequently, just before it began to bucket down with rain!), we snuck back into the church for another couple of gorgeous portraits!
I have learnt that some computers or browsers aren't coping with some of my blogs and going a bit spazzo... so in an attempt to rectify that... I will now continue onto Part II of Kelly and Mark's blog... make sure you check it out... this is where it gets really good!!

Take me to Part II of Kelly & Mark's Blog!

Just in case you missed it... check out Part I of Kelly and Mark's blog here!

And so we pick up where we left off... ah yea, just when it began to pooooour down and we were about to head outside to some awesome locations! Plan B was called upon, and we went straight up to stunning Larnach's Castle for the whole shoot and their reception! And it was actually perfect... the rain was slightly softer up there, and there were sooo many times I just wanted to gasp at the beauty we were able to capture of this couple!
The whole bridal party were absolute troopers getting out in the rain! I think the raindrops in the background of the following photos totally add something to them... rain can be ah-mazing.
I'm just gonna put it out there... these two are going to have the most beautiful babies ever!
Some guests watching on from the best seats in the house!
We walked around the corner to this gorgeous patch of cute little white flowers, and look who decided to join us! Life couldn't have been more perfect!
Liam and I dropped off Kelly and Mark's full set of photos to them last night.  They were talking about how much they loved the photo shoot part of the day, because they could get away and just snuggle and have some time together; that's all you wanna do when you have just married your best friend!!! And secretly Kelly was totally loving how much Mark was loving it and getting into it too!!
Soooo romantic!
Kelly and Mark, and your whole bridal party... you guys were super fun and amazingly good-looking! Thanks again for having fun with us, getting out in the rain and just saying 'of course!' to all our crazy requests! We loved your wedding day and we hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed taking them! XOX

The Lookout Lodge near Wanaka was the perfect setting for Susan and Bryce's wedding, with the most stunning backdrop for the ceremony, and a very nice reception venue. It was a day full of love and a lot of laughs! Susan and Bryce created a beautiful and intimate family-based wedding - it was a lovely day which we were lucky to be part of. The location was just so peaceful and inviting... and Wanaka was ridiculously hot.

Susan and her Bridesmaids, Jenna and Kat, got ready at the lodge itself. They all looked amazing, and Susan was lucky to have bridesmaids to keep her so perfectly calm and gorgeous!! I won't write too much more (I've been at this computer all day, and I won't stop blabbering if I start!)... so will let the images do the talking!

Let's begin with gorgeous Susan...
And some details... always love pretty bridal things!
Susan literally had to step out of her room and she was at the beginning of the aisle to Bryce, so she was able to have a quick wee peek at her husband-to-be standing out on the lawn very nervously when he arrived!!
Love this! Cute grandparents watching on eagerly!
Despite it being an absolutel pearler of a day, the wind still decided to have a bit of a battle with her veil! Susan just laughed all day long though... nothing was a problem at all!
And that scenery couldn't get much better!
Beautiful girls!
Reeeeow! You look amazing Susan!!
Two year old Isla flew over from Australia the day before the wedding, and she was the sweetest little flowergirl!! She was very serious all day, until we reached this one location, where the wee poppet couldn't stop smiling!! Maybe the jetlag finally wore off?!
Blowing bubbles never gets old.
Susan and Bryce, thanks heaps for asking us to capture your day!! You just seem so natural and perfect together, and it was such an honour to be part of your big day!! All the best for everything. Can't wait to get your beautiful display prints to you! xoxox

Stella and Choon-Wi put on one of the funnest and fullest wedding days I have ever been to - it was a huge day, packed with so many different, meaningful, hilarious, awesome traditions! They win the "Kim and Liam got a bit snap happy" prize for this season... I have to try to be brief with my words, or this blog will end up 10x longer than it should! So let me take you back to an incredibly amazing wedding, at a lovely venue in Wanaka called, well... "The Venue".

Stella and Choon-Wi (otherwise known as Chewy) have been together for over 4 years. Chewy proposed at the top of Signal Hill, on a pitch black night. All Stella could do was say "yes!!!!!!" and then run back to car to see what her new ring actually looked like under the car lights! Their wedding day was a celebration of all that has been in their relationship, and all that is yet to come. It was a beautiful mix of their Maylasian and New Zealand upbringings. They are a gorgeous couple who like to have a lot of fun. A LOT. More on that later!

We met Stella and her girls getting hair and make-up done. Stella was calm and already looking stunning when we arrived!
Literally 10m away, in the house next door, Chewy and his boys were getting suited up. Looking very smart and sophisticated indeed.
I'll be honest though - what followed was a minor lapse in that sophistication. We all sprung into the next big part of the day - the "traditional" Chinese 'Ceremony Games'. A part of the day where we had no idea what we were in for! I have never laughed so hard at a wedding in my life...
If you didn't know any better, you would have been forgiven for thinking you had walked into a stag do, rather than a wedding day. Don't say I didn't warn you! But never fret, we will be back with the prettiness very soon!
The bridesmaids (and probably around 15 of Stella's good friends) challenge the groom (and his entourage of boys!) to complete a series of tasks in order to earn his bride, who is hidden away in a secret room in the house! The first challenge involved a lot of dancing, girls underwear, nappies, and kids juice boxes... need I say more?!
The guys also have to pay money to all the girls as an extra incentive to let them pass the challenges. And I tell you what, the girls ran a hard bargain! Inside each of these envelopes was a $5 note... and they had to be passed out continuously before Chewy could even take a step inside the house!
Singing a Chinese love song loud enough that his hidden bride might hear him... third time lucky and he passed that challenge!
A bit of balloon popping man-love...
And some physical challenges to prove he is manly enough for his bride.
A contract to sign, declaring his undying willingess to "do all the housework, carry Stella's bags while she shops 'till she drops, always put the toilet seat down and to always admit he is in the wrong"...!
And while his gorgeous oriental princess nervously waits (for about an hour!), Chewy has one more Cinderella story challenge to complete. He must find her missing shoe around the house, and present it to his bride to ensure it fits.
Oh, and also get past Aiwei, the final road-block to his bride!!
Chewy has proved his manliness, his love, and his ability to do anything without embrassment... and he earns his bride in full!
And the shoe fits!! (Phew!)
Back to the sophistication and classiness - the next item on the agenda was the traditional 'tea ceremony' where family members serve each other tea as a formal introduction and gesture of respect.
After a lunch with the family and friends, Stella had some more girl time, preparing for the ceremony.
The ceremony took place on the lawn at 'The Venue', and it was stunning!
His second glimpse at his bride, and Chewy's smile is a mile wide...
Gorgeous kids taking control of the videography...
And just like that, they are man and wife!! Wahoooo! A very good reason to dance down the aisle...
Don't leave yet! So much happened in this day that I had to split the blog in 2! I urge you to check out Part Two of Stella and Chewy's wedding... this is where is gets particularly beautiful... so check it out!! Here is one sneak peek of what you will find...

Take me to Part II of Stella and Chewy's Blog!!

Thanks for continuing onto Part II of Stella and Chewy's wedding blog! (If you have missed the first, Part I is here!)

Stella and Chewy. Two awesome names... but two very easy names to mix up! They had to get used to me calling them Stewy & Chella, or Stelly and Chewa the whole shoot! I tried to get it right though, I really did!

The whole bridal party were ah-mazing when we went out for the portrait/location shoot! We absolutely LOVED this whole shoot... full of enthusiasm, love, ideas... these guys rocked it totally.

And how outstandingly gorgeous is Stella?? Such a dream to photograph!
Mmm Mmmmmm. Moody skies. Long grassy fields. And LOVE. Happy dance!
Too cool for school.
And down by the lake front was another winner of a location!
And a bit of playground fun never hurt anyone either!
Back at the reception, the guests were excited to see the happy couple again...
... and I felt like I had stepped back into my childhood dreams when I saw this candy bar!! Ok, ok...maybe I still dream about candy like this... Don't judge me.
Wow. EPIC wedding!!! It was so hard to narrow down the photos! Stella and Chewy, THANK YOU!!!!!!! We had soooo much fun... I just smile and laugh when I think about your awesome day! The details, the traditions, the colours, the locations, the cute kids, and you and your awesome bridal party - it was all just so amazing. And thanks for your patience with the blog too! We have loved getting to know you two, and we hope to see you again soon! xoxoxo
