A newborn baby is one of lifes greatest blessings. I met baby Juno when she was just 10 days old - and my goodness she is an adorable wee button. An absolute bundle of perfection, with a whole head of amazing hair!!
You may recognise Juno's adoring parents too! Laura and James are commonly referred to as the "yellow plane couple" when clients come into my office. They have been such an amazing couple to work with, and I have been so lucky to have been able to capture all these hugely important life events for them over the past couple years! It began with their engagement & wedding (which ended up winning the ODT Wedding of the Year award!), and now, their adorable new daughter.

I just loved walking into their house, and seeing their walls absolutely covered in huge canvases and framed fine art prints of my work! It was an amazing feeling - that is why I do this!
I was able to capture portraits of some of the extended family, including grandparents and great-grandparents, who were all doting over the gorgeous new addition!
GUS! If you have seen the previous blogs, you will know this wee dog is rather loved. And energetic. And hilarious. And there was no way we could do a newborn shoot without including Gus in some way. He is part of the family fully and compeletly! Juno's baby room actually looks like a shrine to Gus because it has a VERY big canvas of him from our engagement shoot covering the wall! Not your typical newborn shot - but I just love this! So proud of his new wee sister!
Beautiful, beautiful wee girl.
Laura and James, I had no doubt you guys were going to have stunningly gorgeous babies... Juno is SUCH a wee cutie!!! You are doing such an amazing job as parents. Can't wait to see her grow up, and maybe add more family photographs to your walls! xoxo

Another gorgeous little human now graces this earth.  He is beautiful, tiny, precious, and extremely loved!  Baby Jackson Conway was born on the 18th of September, just a few days earlier than expected, at 6lb 8oz.  And I was lucky enough to meet him when he was just over two weeks old!  He is surrounded by adoring and doting family, and Liz and Jono have slotted in to parenthood perfectly... the whole house was calm, happy, organised and even tidy! (Sheesh, I can't even keep my house tidy with just me and Liam here!).  They are natural and amazing parents.

When we did the shoot, Jackson's two Grandmas were also there to celebrate this new little life (Jono's mother from Invercargill, and Liz's mother all the way from America!).  Of course, they are all completely smitten and just couldn't keep their eyes off him... and rightly so... he is a little cutie!
If life gives you hundreds of reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand more reasons to smile!!
Or just pout your lip, and that will win anyone over!
We all know that labour isn't exactly pleasant... but Liz found a remedy.... she kept herself distracted by knitting this scarf for her mother!!! Yep, you heard me right... she knitted her way through having a baby!
You would NEVER guess Liz has just had a baby - she is definitely a yummy mummy! Looking hot Liz xx
Jono is tall. Like, really tall. And he has the feet to match!! And I think Jackson is going to rival him when he is older - despite being a tiny little creature, he does have long skinny limbs! He has a little way to go yet though...
Jackson is 50% American, so he has been given this little buzzy-bee just to keep the kiwi in him grounded! He seems to think it is funny anyway...
Liz and Jono, you are absolute stars - Jackson is too cool! Thanks so much for an awesome shoot - you are a perfect little family and I can't wait to watch him grow up into a wonderful little boy xoxo

A while back I photographed Abhishek and Puja's maternity shoot - a gorgeous evening shoot at the beach and the gardens! Since then I have also been lucky enough to meet and photograph their gorgeous new baby, little Aashna! I have not been able to share these images until recently, so I thought I would post a few from these two beautiful shoots!

Puja and Abhishek were amazing to photograph - both very natural and easy in front of the camera!
Beautiful colours and a beautiful couple!
Some weeks later, we met again for a shoot of their gorgeous new wee girl! I met baby Aashna at about 6 weeks old. She is absolutely beautiful and was a dream to photograph! She slept peacefully for a lot of the session, and when she was awake, she was so placid and gorgeous!
(Just before anyone freaks out - this is a composite image of two photographs... her wonderful parents were right there holding her... safety first!).
Even got a wee smile....
Thank you again, Abhishek and Puja, for inviting me into this very special time in your lives! Aashna is a beautiful girl and your love for her is very obvious! All the best for your journey of parenthood! I look forward to doing more photo shoots with you in the future!

Adelia is a gift from God. A precious wee miracle who is loved abundantly.

And she is our wee niece! We are so lucky to be an Aunty and Uncle to two beautiful wee girls, one on each side of the family. Being an Aunty is the best thing ever!!! We get to love and treasure these wee girls who are so fun and adorable and who are learning so much every day. And although we don't live in the same city as either of them, we can talk on skype or facetime and see them grow. And when we do get to see them, my world is complete! We can hold them, love them, play, giggle and talk in gibberish... and then hand them back when they scream or spew. Perfect.

We booked flights to Auckland to meet Adelia when she was 'supposed' to be about 4 weeks old, however she graced the world with her wonderful presence over three weeks early. She was a tiny and utterly adorable 7 week old baby when we met her - not much bigger than a newborn at all. We had a really nice weekend with Laura, Shannon and their amazing new daughter!

Adelia wasn't super keen on the photos though, so our photo ideas and plans had to change quite a lot... as they often do with babies! She had her own agenda... that she would sleep deeply only when there was no natural light for photos! But that was totally fine, and we spent the day photographing 'life' as it is for this new family unit.
Laura and Shannon seemed to have slotted into parenthood perfectly... they totally ADORE Adelia!
Perfection in a wee bundle!
After being awake for quite a lot of the day, sleepiness finally got the better of her, and the wee poppet drifted off to the deepest slumber... like a bear! She looked ridiculously cute, and even though the light was fading quickly we managed to take a few gorgeous images.
I just wanted to pick her up and snuggle her so tight!!
It's official - we have the two cutest nieces in the world!! Don't even bother trying to challenge me on that one...!! Thanks for the snuggles and cuteness overload, Adelia xoxoxo

Can someone please tell me where 2012 is running away to?? I need to grab it and take it hostage so that I can catch up on everything, and then tell the world when I am ready to continue! Don't get me wrong... it has been a fantastic whirl-wind of a year so far!! Nearly April though?! Seriously world, slow down!!

I have been pretty insanely busy since November last year, and I am LOVING it!! It does however mean that sometimes blogs have taken the back-burner, as I have had to work hard on getting the images to the clients first! But I love sharing people's stories and photographs... so I have complied a wee blog of just three of the gorgeous little cuties I have been lucky enough to photograph recently!
Tamsin and Damian wanted some precious photos of little 8 week old Jordan before he grew up too much! Jordan rocked the photo shoot - he is one of the most smiley little boys I have ever photographed, and he was so incredibly chilled out the whole time!
His pensive thinking face... hmmmm....
2 year old Ella was very lucky to have her grandparents over from Scotland for a few months!! Before they left, we met for a shoot to mark this very special time. Ella is adorable. Such a sweet little personality, and very curious! She spent a very large chunk of the shoot right up in my lens like this, convinced that 'Dora The Explorer' was inside my "TV"!!
Snuggles with the grandparents!
3 month old Madison was a delight to photograph, with her gorgeous wee chubby cheeks and legs!! She was so placid and serious the whole time I photographed, trying to figure out what was going on!! 3 months is such a nice age, as they start to interact with the world and begin to develop their own personality. What an adorable little button...

Summer...
Warming. Joyful. Glowing. Blissful.

Drifting in and out of sleep, 9 day old Summer melted my heart. What an honour it is to meet tiny new friends like this, so soon after they arrive into the world. Summer is an absolutely gorgeous little bundle of perfection! Her parents are so smitten, and so blessed to have such a beautiful little girl to call their own.

Know in full how loved you are, wee Summer. Dream sweetly xoxo

This little baby (known as 'Baby Pea' during pregnancy) graced the world with his presence on his due date, which was remarkably convenient of him! His amazing parents, Catherine and Simon, needed to get home from Christchurch before he was born, and I was heading to Invercargill for a wedding just a few days after his due date... so the timing all worked in perfectly.
Meet little Ezra. He is 9 days old, and he is perfection all wrapped up.
There is only one thing more precious than a baby's wee hands and feet... and that is when those wee hands grab hold of yours. The first thing Ezra did when he was born, was to wrap his tiny little fingers around his mothers...
Isn't he just the sweetest little bundle you ever did see?!
I love the connection here with his Daddy...
Ezra was so chilled out the whole time. He didn't sleep... but he also didn't cry, grizzle, poo, or spew. He just lay, happy as Larry, placidly taking in the world around him.
Remember his wee pea-pod toys from the maternity shoot?!
This is what kisses for a hungry baby look like... hehe...
Love that little tongue trying to find food!
And this is what kisses for a well-fed baby look like...
Catherine and Simon, you are beautiful and loving parents. Ezra is very lucky to have you both. I wish you all the best as you enter the journey of parenthood!
Just fed, and zonked. Wee Ezra finally fell to sleep...

I hope to see you again precious wee thing! xx

_Beautiful little Georgia... you are Mummy’s everything.
What a sweet honour that is to be.

You are perfect in every way.
_Every single way.
Your eyes connect and melt her heart.
Your tiny little toes make her never want to let you go.
Your quiet slumber brings her peace.
Your smile brings her joy like she has never felt.
You are loved with every inch of her heart, precious little baby xoxo

Newborns, newborns, newborns! There has definitely been something in the water around Dunedin... there seems to be a mini baby boom recently... and I loooove it!!

This time I had the pleasure of meeting gorgeous little William Elliot and his wonderful first-time parents, Karen and Zane. They were smitten, and rightly so! He is a beautiful little boy. William was sleeping sweetly when I arrived... but that didn't last too long! He was a very wriggly wee baby, with a strong wee set of legs on him!! Any little poses we put him in, he just wriggled his way out... we needed some good strong hands to hold down the bucket so that he didn't push himself right off! He will be an adventurous one when he grows up!

Elliot has the coolest little room, with these awesome hand-painted wall decor stickers!
Wee William wasn't so keen on his photo shoot and spent a good lot of it crying, but Karen and Zane managed to sttle him beautifully each time...
A gift from a friend...  one that represents the huge amounts of love abounding in this lovely little family...
Thank you Elliot family for inviting me into your lovely house to do this shoot! I wish you all the best for your lifetime of parenthood and family life! I have no doubt you will be fantastic parents! xx

Little Bella was just 8 days old when I met her and her three big brothers - Liam, Bailey and Lincoln. The boys love their new baby sister sooo much, it is just adorable! Their parents, Jo and Adrian, sure have their hands full with four little kids under seven, but what a job they are doing!

It is not often I photograph newborn babies who already have older siblings, and I just loved seeing the interactions between the three boys and their precious wee sister. She is going to be one over-protected girl when she grows up!! Lucky wee thing!
Picture
Lincoln and Bailey just wanted to smother her in smooches!

Liam thought kissing was a bit yucky, but really wanted a photo holding Bella...

The whole wonderful family!

Four-year old Bailey was a super awesome poser throughout the whole shoot. The other two boys were slightly more camera shy, but Bailey had lots of good ideas about what photos I could take of him!

Thanks Jo and Adrian for bringing up such gorgeous little kiddies! You definitely have a beautiful little set of them! I loved doing this shoot for you, and I am so glad you like the photos so much that you couldn't choose! All the best with your first wee girl! xx
