Last Wednesday my friend Helen and I went on a play date! It began with a sun-filled drive to Broad Bay China, to fossick through thousands of pieces of antique collectibles. We had a picnic full of scrummy treats, drunk berry smoothie out of dainty china tea-cups, and watched 9 little ducklings slide down a large rock wall. Following that, we dodged piles of sheep poo and jumped over fences to reach a derelict old farm house - one that was far from abandoned though. Not only sheep, but heeeeaps of baby birds had made this house their home. This is what I love about Helen. She is a very feminine, pretty, gentle girl who loves all things beautiful, most things girly, and pretty much anything floral. She is a picture of loveliness at all times. She is not necessarily a prissy girl though - she is not afraid to get her feet dirty, sometimes adorns herself in colourful sloppy woollen jersey's, and laughs until she snorts. Helen is an INCREDIBLE watercolour and textile artist, and she also makes a-beast-a-day!! Her artwork shows this fascinating dichotomy between the beautiful and the strangely beautiful. You may have also seen Helen and her lovely husband Matt here before. Oh so lovely! And check out her amazing red boots!!! Reow. 'Nuff said. Just quietly I think this is a freak'n amazing location for photos... diverse and different locations can totally make photos. If you are stuck for location ideas, please ask me - I have a few tricks up my sleeve. We did find nests full of tiny, tiny baby birds with their beaks wide open waiting to be fed. Unfortunately we couldn't feed them, and I couldn't really get a good photo of them without ruining their precious wee home - but they were kinda cute and ugly at the same time. You just have to believe me. Helen you are wonderful and lovely and all those great kinds of adjectives. Thanks for adventuring with me! XO
