Meet Heather and Doug! They make up the incredibly wonderful team that is Heather Ellis Photography
! This gorgeous couple got engaged in India in March this year, and are preparing for their wedding in April 2011. They started up their Christchurch photography business this year, and best of all - they are madly in love!
Liam and I make up the team that is Kimberley Cheyne Photography. We got engaged in Samoa in March this year, and are preparing for our wedding in January 2011! We started up our Dunedin photography business this year, and best of all - we are madly in love!
Spot the difference?! When Heather and I first met (it began as a photography-stalking internet friendship!), we were both pretty stoked to realise we were both in exactly the same stage in life. In fact, the more I get to know her, the more I think we are both quite similar in many different aspects.
One thing led to another, and on Sunday we met halfway in Timaru to do engagement shoots for each other! (Yes, I was a bit nervous - Heather is an INCREDIBLE photographer and I loooove her work). We were a force to be reckoned with - Heather, Doug, Liam and I all walking around with giant black cameras in our hands! For five whole hours we flitted between workin' it for the camera, and workin' it behind the camera. The awesome thing was that Doug and Liam were also shooting the whole day - and I gotta tell you, I do have some competition with Liam behind the camera.
Just after I was doing that... Liam was doing this! Love it!
Little bit jealous that Liam took this too.... gorgeous...
Heather and Doug have been a blossoming couple for six years, and they are seriously cute. They are perfect for each other in every way. Heather was working at Subway when they met. In her own words - Doug and his family came in for dinner, and left with more than just a sandwich! Personally, I think $8.95 is quite a good trade for a footlong and beautiful, talented, fun-loving girl. Kudos to you Doug!
Nothing like a beautiful bit of bling!
We found some pretty sweet little locations - not everyday do you come across a boat just chilling out in the middle of town. Only in Timaru!
They do shoot with Canon.... but I guess we can forgive them for that.
Liam shot these little beauties...
Team 'Rellison' (Ellis and Richardson together, for those of you who didn't get that) are an incredibly fun, warm-hearted pair. Heather is one of those people you want to be close friends with straight away - she is funny, down-to-earth, beautiful and caring. Doug is humble, sincere, gentle, and so obviously very proud of his girl. They laugh together, they tease each other, they flirt, and they aren't afraid to show their affection for one another.
These are also AMAZINGLY well-travelled, and Heather has some increeeedible travel pictures which you should totally check out! Doug scored major bonus points for proposing outside the Taj Mahal while the sun was setting! Phew, talk about setting a high standard.
Some of our shoot was quite extreme - we got veeery dirty, Heather ripped a wee hole in her jeans, and I made her bushwacke through tall grass in high heels! We decided to have a bit of fun with a couple of props each - apparently this apron sums Heather up pretty well - Doug won't even eat her toast!
Heather, you are soooooo beautiful.
Our final destination was in the middle of Liam's family hazelnut farm - so that was a bit cool for us!
You guys are awesome - Liam and I feel pretty honoured to be your friends, and to have the opportunity to do this with you! You will both go hugely far with your business. Thank you sooooooo much for the stunning images you took of us, we love them massive, massive amounts! Let's do this again for our 50th wedding anniversaries....!
Lots of love,
Kim and Liam xoxoxox
