Aramoana is one of the most beautiful, quirky, fun little seaside towns around. It is only 30 minutes from Dunedin, but you feel like you are in a different world. It is iconicly kiwi - a tight-knit community with an eclectic mix of cribs (or baches if you are reading this from north of about Oamaru), and beach-lovers. I was super excited when Cara and Cory told me they were getting married there on the 28th of December, with "a kinda glorified version of the family BBQ they host annually"!
Cory grew up in Port Chalmers, and the family had a crib in Aramoana. His parents now live there, and have the most beautiful garden... with an assorted mix of "beachy" things around too. Cara is American, so unfortunately none of her family were able to be at their gorgeous wedding, but it was easy to see that she is very much part of the Davis family. They also have two absolutely adorable wee girls, Ruby and Orla, who were a massive part of their celebration!
This small, casual and intimate wedding was beautiful. There are simply no better words for it! Let me show you...

Cara and Cory both got ready in two Davis households, right beside each other... everything about this wedding was just so easy and great! I met with Cara first to see how her preparations were going. 2 & 1/2 year old Ruby was getting some pretty lip gloss on, so that she could be just like Mummy.
The detail that Cara was most excited about was her utterly gorgeous flowers by Jolene at Estelle Flowers. Jolene always does an incredible job of bouquets, and this one filled with pohutukawa was one of the best I have seen!
Next door, everything was extraordinarily casual! Cory was pretty much ready to go, apart from those little buttonholes which always seem to catch grooms out. Must.not.prick.chest.with.pin.
Cara and Cory decided to do a 'first look', and have their photos before the ceremony. There is something very emotional and beautiful about first looks. We planned a great spot for it, and wee Ruby came running over to the girls house to tell me Daddy was ready to see Mummy!!
And I think Cory was over the moon with what he saw!
These guys are an awesome match. Their love for each other and for their beautiful children just overflowed...
When 5 month old Orla woke up from her nap, we all went down to the beach for some relaxed family portraits. Could the girls get any cuter?!
Ruby wants you to follow her to the ceremony... so click here to see Cara and Cory actually get MARRIED!!
