The bond of a family is unlike anything else. Each family is a little set of similar, yet disimilar, characters plodding through life - sharing toothpaste, fighting over who gets the most ice-cream, borrowing money, teasing, swapping hand-me-down clothes and trying to live in harmony underneath one roof. They love, laugh, defend, and try to figure out the common thread that bound them all together in the first place. Then the children grow up, and the bonds deepen - the girls are ok with the boys having more ice-cream, your parents become more like close friends, and the family grows as new loves are included.
This is what makes family.
I first met the Stevenson family when I assisted the beautiful Rachel Callander at Angela and Mike's wedding in August! Ange contacted me again to get a set of family photos with her parents, Murray and Barbara, her brother Raymond, and her husband Mike. They are a wonderful family - full of life and craziness, willing to tease, and bound together with the love that only a family can have.

Sometimes though, even when the children are adults, it is still not cool to stand close together.
Ange and Barbara could at least show some affection and touch each other!!
Ange and Mike are an amazing couple and it was awesome to see them again after their wedding!
And Barbara and Murray? They too are fully in love. They are best friends, who have raised a gorgeous family.
I love this - so many years of love and laughter in one simple shot.
Thank you for a wonderful shoot on Sunday! I have many more photos for you all that I can't wait to get to you. Enjoy! xo
