Anniversary blog #2 comes all the way from mighty Auckland! Well a little north of Auckland actually... from a beautiful little spot called Kaukapakapa! We were stoked to travel up to photograph Lawren and Brenton's backyard wedding - Lawren is one of my dearest childhood friends, and being there for her big day as she married her best friend was pretty flippin' cool!
This was a wedding full of gorgeous details, a hilarious bridal party who definitely didn't take life too seriously, and a fun couple who are madly in love. I have a lot of photos to share... so let me get straight into it...

The boys got ready in Lawren and Brenton's gorgeous home... with the marquee set up in the paddock beside. These guys were a laugh a minute. And Brenton, his Dad, and Lawren all worked tirelessly on doing up an old Cortina (that's the car, for those vehically challenged, like myself) as their wedding car! Too cool for words.
The girls were getting all prettied up at Lawren's parents home in Orewa! Pauline and Andrew were always known as my second parents when they lived in Southland, so I kinda just felt like part of the furniture there.
Gorgeous bride!
The nailed it with their choices of wedding cars! LOVE me a kombi van!
The ceremony was held outside a little church in Wainui, so we got to trip around the countryside a little! I had never seen the rural side of wider Auckland, so it was pretty awesome. Such a gorgeous wee venue in the middle of nowhere!
A little moment of quiet inside the church together, after signing the register...
And then just like that, they were husband and wife!
This is the 'She Said Yes' shed that originally starred in Jackson's Wharf!
Troopers! Absolute troopers!
I have to also give a massive shout out to Amber from Perspective's Photo and Cinema who did some amazing location scouting for me (without even being asked) when I was stuck in Dunedin and couldn't do it myself! Loooved this carrot weed field! Who knew weeds could be so darn BEAUTIFUL?!
Back to the reception... we were absolutely blown away by the incredible detail and thought that went into this country-styled backyard marquee. It was GORGEOUS, and we were not short of things to photograph!
Suuuuuch an amazing day! We had SO much fun gallivanting around the countryside and photographing these crazy cats. Thanks sooo much for asking us to photograph your big day, Lawren and Brenton! You are such an awesome couple, and you put on one heck of a good celebration!
Have a wonderful day celebrating your 1st anniversary today! Loads of love and all the best for a very exciting year ahead :) xx
