These photos don't need words. They just need a story. Kirsten is my beautiful sister, and one of my best friends. I love her to bits! She is quite the opposite of dark and gloomy. But one thing is for sure... she is smokin' hot!! I had a photo concept I wanted to play with, and Kirsten scouted out a perfect location for me. She is quite a good actor as you can see (she doesn't actually smoke!)... but mostly she is cute, fun and flippin' hilarious. We had a super awesome time playing in an alleyway that screamed photo opportunities!! Kirsten was petrified we were going to be locked inside with no way to get out... but we came out alive! Woah... look at that smile...Kirsten you totally don't have any idea how attractive you are! Cutie-pie! I love you xx Thanks for giving me inspiration, and suffering in the cold, cold, cold night to help me get the photos we wanted. OK, so the smoke wasn't plentiful... and I had some MAJOR issues lighting matches... but we had fun anyway! Love you long time xoxo 5 Comments Once upon a time, a little butterfly princess named Ella had a birthday party - because she had been alive for a whole year! Her parents are very proud of her and love her very much. She is a very precious little butterfly princess, who looks very pretty in pink. Let me show you Ella, and her Mummy and Daddy... Ella the butterfly princess loves to fly and dance with her Mummy and Daddy. She doesn't like walking very much, because the grass is wet and squishy - and she was born to fly. Ella loves her Mummy and Daddy very much - and they love her more than we can ever imagine. Even Ella's grandparents, great-grandad, aunties, uncles, and great aunty travelled all the way to butterfly land (Gore!) to celebrate her first birthday with her. They all adore Ella the little butterfly princess. Ella gathered all her butterfly friends together and they celebrated by playing games and eating yummy butterfly food - like cupcakes and chocolate cake! Meanwhile... while all the other little butterflies and fairies were playing happily and sweetly - little Noah the 'butterfly hunter' was on the prowl. He had his butterfly net ready, and cautiously scoped out the butterflies he wanted to catch. It wasn't long until he brought the element of surprise into his chase... dum dum dum! He moved sneakily and stealthily... The butterfly hunter galloped around on his grand horse, riding it stylishly and fearlessly. As he rode, he spotted the butterfly princess of his dreams. He dismounted his trusty steed, and with his digits at the ready, he approached his princess... It took only one charming gesture - the simple gift of a flower - and this little butterfly princess was caught, head over heels. And they lived happily ever after. Mummy and Daddy hope that Ella the butterfly princess has a few more years in her yet before she is caught by any charming butterfly hunters. Happy 1st birthday, darling little Ella! It seems crazy that it was over a year ago that I was photographing you in your cocoon and half a year ago ago that I photographed you as a 6-month old cutie. You are a fairytale come true. The End. It was a gorgeous spring afternoon and I was excited about heading off to a kids shoot in fields of daffodils! At the last minute they had to postpone the shoot, and let's be honest - I was a bit gutted! So I got on my text machine and asked my beautiful friend Mallory to come play with me instead. Mal is awesome. She is always full of adventure and has an amazing sense of fun. I knew she would be up for a spontaneous shoot... especially since it's nearly exam time and anything is a good excuse for a study break. And the other awesome thing is - she is hot, hot, hot. At this point I was using the word "cuuute!" a lot... then Mal told me she hates that word. Whoops! I couldn't stop myself. Sorry love! And then we ventured to my other favourite spring backdrop... blossom! Love it, Mal! You are gorgeous xx Mal, you are SUCH a great model - so naturally beautiful. Thanks for playing with me in the park! You are so fun. Love you lots xoxoox Erin and Stephen are amazing together. They love. They laugh. They are perfectly matched best friends. I don't even know where to start on their gorgeous day. I have so many photos I want to share... so this may be a long blog! The whole day was filled with sincerity, laughter, family, fine details, pretty girls, and workin'-it boys. I met the lovely girls on the fine spring morning in Gore. Erin was buzzing with excitement... her day had finally arrived and she was more than ready. If there was a prize for most-organized wedding... Erin and Stephen would definitely win! Let me give you a preview of their wonderfully perfect day... Erin's little 6 year old cousin, Abbey, was the most gorgeous and mature little girl! She just smiled all day long... Erin looked stunning. I know every bride always does, but she just glowed with excitement and enthusiasm! Erin, you are so beautiful. The bridesmaids (Ashleigh, Corrine and Louise) looked stunning in their red dresses and were heaps of fun during the day. Erin's mother, Virginia, hand-made nearly every detail you see in these photos... flowers, button-holes, reception decorations, the reception meal... and the list goes on. She did an amazing job - and was advertising the fact she would like more weddings to plan too! When we arrived at the guys' place, they were calm and cool...just hanging out, preparing the cars and just being boys! Then we got to the ceremony... and were greeted by some of Erin's young friends! Cuuute! I love this moment of a mother giving her precious daughter away to her husband. After they officially became man and wife, we headed off to a beautiful old homestead near Wyndham and they let their love be shown. I loved that Stephen was not afraid to show his deep affection for his beautiful girl in front of me and his friends. You guys are so cool. The reception was again full of fun and games...especially for the bridal party! The boys even went and bought McDonald's sundaes in the middle of it! Erin and Stephen, thank you sooo much for sharing your wonderful day with me. It was an honour to be your photographer and I had so much fun with you and your bridal party! I have heeeaps more photos for you. I hope you have enjoyed your honeymoon xxx Hello! Firstly, big apologies that it has been a while since I have posted on here. I have been away A LOT with minimal internet access. So, over the next few days, I will attempt to catch you up on a few of my recent shoots! Last weekend, I travelled up to a farm near beautiful Te Anau to photograph the McCallum family. Kath and Phil are smitten over little Timmy - their six month old little farmer boy. And rightly so! Timmy is absolutely adorable and is such a wee dude. He was soooo happy the whole time I was there, even with my big scary camera in his face. Kath was born to be a farmer's wife, and Phil has farming genes through and through. So, it is no surprise that Timothy is surrounded in tractor books, tractor toys and tractor blankets. Only one guess what this cute little boy will grow up to be! Timmy was all smiles and laughs while I was there! Their cat was far too friendly - every time I lay on the floor photographing Tim, the cat was ALL over me...purring and rubbing itself all over my lenses! Kath and Phil are great parents! Kath, you are such a natural, beautiful mother. And Phil is teaching Timothy the ways of the farming life early...he's got the dog whistle and the dog...what more do you need? After a week of horrific snow and rain in Southland and Fiordland, we had a stunning sunny day - so we got our gummies on and ventured out into the mud and muck, where this family feel right at home. Thank you sooo much for the fun afternoon we had! I LOVED catching up with you again and playing with wee Timmy...he is gorgeous! I have so many more pics for you... Enjoy! xxx |
