Thank you Matt and Nat for pouring every inch of your energy into your beeeeautiful day, and for being such genuine, down-to-earth, hilarious, lovely people. We had SUCH an amazing day with you!
Matt and Nat knew right through their engagement that nothing was going to lessen the fun they had on their day... nothing was going to dampen their spirits, nothing was going to mess with their amazing attitude! Whatever the weather, their day would be perfect. It was a huge celebration of their friendship and love, with all of their favourite people. So yep, it rained hard, and yes, everyone huddled under umbrellas throughout their outdoor ceremony... but this was one INCREDIBLE farm wedding! Natalie's parents wedding actually had to be postponed because Southland flooded BIG time... so a bit (or a lot) of rain here and there was noooo biggie! We walked away as little drowned rats high on life!
Thank you Matt and Nat for pouring every inch of your energy into your beeeeautiful day, and for being such genuine, down-to-earth, hilarious, lovely people. We had SUCH an amazing day with you!

I'm loooving going back through these weddings from last year so that I can share these beauties with you finally! Kristy and Warrack's wedding at The Homestead and Woolshed on Racecourse was STUNNING. You just can't beat Central Otago... the colours are divine, the countryside is mind-blowing, and the skies are moody! And when you add in a really good looking bride and groom and their hilarious bridal party, you have a recipe for success!
We had SO much fun at this wedding... laughs were aplenty, and the whole day just seemed to fly by. And apparently the past year has flown by too... so happy 1st anniversary you two!!! Nat and Stef... wow. These two beautiful humans got married on January 30th, and it was so perfect! Dunedin summer even showed its face after a week of torrential rain... we had perfect cloud cover and sun just when we needed it.
Nat and Stef are a very humble, gentle couple. They were so chilled out about EVERYTHING, and the day was just as much about the guests as it was about them. I know this was a wedding that the guests will be talking about for a while too... it was unique, styled beautifully, so much fun, and it had an awesome feeling of community and love. And the FOOD... Liam and I haven't stopped talking about that since either! Make sure you look right to the bottom of this blog to check out the INCREDIBLE market, street-food styled reception! I keep telling myself to make my blogs shorter, but heck, it's hard. I just want to tell their whole story in photos! So, no apologies for that... let's just get into it... Anniversary blog #2 comes all the way from mighty Auckland! Well a little north of Auckland actually... from a beautiful little spot called Kaukapakapa! We were stoked to travel up to photograph Lawren and Brenton's backyard wedding - Lawren is one of my dearest childhood friends, and being there for her big day as she married her best friend was pretty flippin' cool!
This was a wedding full of gorgeous details, a hilarious bridal party who definitely didn't take life too seriously, and a fun couple who are madly in love. I have a lot of photos to share... so let me get straight into it... One year ago today - the 6th of February 2015 - these two wonderful humans got hitched in mighty Ash-vegas! Yep... a whole year ago. I know Hayden and Hayley have been wondering if they didn't make the cut, or if I just couldn't think of any nice words to say about them on the blog. But since I'm here with all their photos in front of me... I guess I'll rack my brain to come up with sooooomething... ;)
Ok fine. It's actually reeeeally hard not to rave on and on about this wedding and I'm pretty excited to be finally sharing it! I've gotta hand it to them - this good-looking couple put on one heck of a beautiful day! It was actually perfect from beginning to end... but with perfectionists like Hayden and Hayley, that was inevitable. Hayden is my cuzzy-bro! Being 18 months younger than me, I'm sure I probably bossed him around a bit when we were young... and I got to do it all again on his wedding day! Hayden and Hayley were actually a dream to photograph though - they love a good laugh, they are beautiful people inside and out, they have an awesome sense of style, and they love each other. A lot. And that, my friends, is a great combo. Meet Mr and Mrs Laiman! Becca and Joe's wedding was totally magical. Every little detail, every awesome person there, every location we photographed at, every look between Becca and Joe... everything was perfect.
The whole day was a family affair - bouquets were made by Becca's Mum, Becca made the beautiful dresses you will see, her Dad did up the wedding cars, there were a lot of stunning DIY details, and the ceremony and photos were held on Becca's family property! The reception was right across the road too, so we only moved about 1km all day! We were spoilt for choice for the photos - perfect gardens of different shapes and colours and varieties, forest areas, sheds, paddocks, a train station next door, and cute old cars just lying around! The preparation that went into this wedding was amazing. Seeing Joe and Becca SO happy and so in love was amazing. Their entire bridal party laughed all day, and we just loved every minute of it! Laura and Brad... what a stuuuuunning and classy wedding! These two are beautiful people inside and out - both with a touch a sophistication, and a touch of crazy fun ;). Liam and I were looking forward to this wedding for a couple of years... and it lived up to everything and more! The rain did come, and Dunedin's classic grey skies showed their face, but it didn't matter! We ventured out to Waikouaiti for the ceremony - a gorgeous little church that Laura and Brad had been eyeing up for a while! The reception was held at Dunedin's Railway Station... so we had two classically beautiful venues that perfectly suited the style and theme of the day. Laura and Brad, thanks soooo much for sharing your stunning day with us! We absolutely loved 'working' (it didn't feel like work!) with you both... you are a ridiculously good-looking, lovely, and fun couple! The perfect combo xoxoxo Flippin' stunning bride, and the dress to match!
As soon as I photographed Tamsyn and Iain's engagement shoot, I knew they were going to be amazing on their wedding day! They have the most amazing smiles, endless joy, and a love that just shines from them. Tamsyn is radiantly gorgeous... her stunning red hair and long eyelashes are such a dream to photograph!!
Their wedding day was filled with laughter and happiness, and a touch of both sun and rain. Iain even sung his wife-to-be up the aisle (a bit of a tear-jerker if I'm honest!!)... and some youth that Tamsyn works closely with at Rock Solid did an incredible haka after the ceremony. Their stunning reception was at the Park Regis Hotel... one of Dunedin's hidden gems!! Tamsyn and Iain... thank you!! It really was a privilege to photograph your big day. We hope that these photos will always bring back plenty of amazing memories, and reflect that joy and happiness that is so obvious in your relationship xoxox I really don't know where to begin with Kenzie and Henry's wedding. Kenz is one of my best friends, and I just have SO much love for this couple! I have written so many blogs in my head about this day... it was just perfection from beginning to end. Kenz and Henry met in Dunedin, and came back from Aus to marry each other. They had the most fun, relaxed and BEAUTIFUL day possible! But it wasn't just that Kenzie looked incredibly stunning (that girl could wear a brown sack and still look amazing)... or that they had a pearler of a day with gorgeous views over the Dunedin peninsula. It wasn't just the beautifully simple ceremony with all their favourite people huddled underneath a gigantic tree in Chingford Park, or the pretty details they had planned. It was the complete and utter HAPPINESS that this day brought them, and every single one of the guests. They floated on a buzz of excitement and joy all day long. Kenz and I have been friends since we were about four years old... so seeing her marrying the guy of her dreams was so amazing. I didn't know what kind of man Kenzie would need in her life... she is strong and independent and capable on her own. But Henry is exactly who she needed - he compliments her in every way possible. They can talk for hours on end about sport, or food, or wine, or travel, or movies... or debate rather intellectual matters that go way over my head. They support each other's independence, and pretty much, they make the perfect match. I think you will all agree with me that Kenz is a total babe. She's also one of those really annoying girls who is funny, down-to-earth, super loving, thoughtful, loyal, and talented at EVERYTHING too.... I've tried for years to find Kenzie's faults, but I've come to the conclusion that I don't think she has any ;) Even when they didn't know anyone was watching or photographing... they were off in their own wee world ;) These girls are ridiculously awesome and all so stunning! In fact, their whole bridal party = AMAZING. Stop it with your incredible beauty already Kenzie... Kenzie and Henry have a lot of friends... which is not surprising at all when you meet them. The reception was a hilarious, heartfelt, emotional evening full of amazing people, killer speeches/songs and a good dose of fun and games. And an EPIC dance... Just to finish off the day nicely, some beautiful moody fog rolled in over the hills, so we grabbed them out for a few final shots... turns out they are some of my favourites of the day... Kenz and Henry... you guys know how much you mean to us, and how incredibly love-filled and humbled we felt on your wedding day. You show each other, and your friends and family, how important each relationship and friendship is to you, and that's a quality I really admire. Seeing the smiles never leaving your faces was amazing... it's obvious how much you adore and respect each other! I just remember giggling all day long :)
I know you are having the most epic adventures in South America right now... soooo jealous! Can't wait to hear more about it! xoxoxoxo Many of the details were either handmade, family heirlooms, or gifted from friends and family. I love homegrown weddings. These beautiful bridesmaids all made the day easy and stress-free for Anna too! Catching up with lots of old friends is one of the best things about weddings I think! Anna is one of those girls who I can't remember NOT being in my life, and for that I am very thankful! We went all through kindy, primary, intermediate and high school together. We played at each others houses, we passed notes in class, we talked about boys, we went on plenty of camps together and we giggled a lot! And now she lives just 10 houses up the street from me, and we are both grown ups who are married and stuff! Anna is out-going, beautiful, hilarious, loyal and a friend who I will forever love catching up with! It was so awesome to be able to capture Anna's wedding, to be beside her on the biggest day of her life, as she married her best friend, Chris. The ceremony was at Chris' second home... the Zingari Rugby Club! Often when I catch up with Anna, Chris is either out playing rugby, away hunting, or working hard. His passions were included into their day which was awesome. One of my favourite shots of the day... a stunning bride and her proud and unbelievably happy parents! Husband and wifey! :D Anna and Chris both have a pretty cheeky streak too... If I wasn't photographing them, the boys were photographing themselves. All.day.long. ;) A little bit of rain never hurt anyone! Anna... you are a true stunner! Anna and Chris.... you guys are awesome... thanks so much for asking us to photograph your big day! And thanks for your many, many years of friendship Anna! Sending loads of love up the street! Catch up soooon! xoxo
